Order of the Golden Dawn, in the Outer
Temple of Sia‑Hu Ptah
The Heart, the Word, and the Architect — a Golden Dawn temple serving St. Petersburg, Tampa, and the Tampa Bay area.
Welcome
A living current of the Western Mysteries
The Temple of Sia-Hu Ptah works the Golden Dawn curriculum, first taught by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in London in 1888 — a structured course of magical, Kabbalistic, and contemplative practice rooted in the Hermetic, Rosicrucian, and Egyptian traditions.
Welcome. The Temple of Sia-Hu Ptah is a chartered Golden Dawn temple serving St. Petersburg, Tampa, Clearwater, and the wider Tampa Bay area. We are a working temple of the Order of the Golden Dawn, in the Outer: we confer the grades of the Outer Order, hold formal ceremonial meetings and study groups for our members, and teach open classes for anyone drawn to the Western Mysteries.
The Golden Dawn is a path of study and practice, not a creed to adopt. It joins the Qabalah, the Tarot, astrology, alchemy, and ceremonial ritual into one course of self-knowledge, undertaken in the company of others walking the same road. Our temple takes its name from the Memphite theology of ancient Egypt: Sia, the perceiving heart; Hu, the creative word; and Ptah, the Architect from whom both proceed.
Our open seminar, the Study Circle of Sia, meets on the first Saturday of each month at 2 p.m. in St. Petersburg. If you are looking for the Golden Dawn in Florida, you are welcome to read more about our Order and our temple, or to write to us.
The Order
The Order of the Golden Dawn, in the Outer, preserves and transmits the systematic Hermetic curriculum established in the tradition of the 1888 order — grade by grade, from Neophyte to Philosophus.
Our Temple
Named for the heart and word of Ptah the Architect, our temple holds a distinctive Egyptian theological identity grounded in the Memphite theology of the Shabaka Stone.
The Work
Ritual, study, and contemplative practice in the Hermetic, Kabbalistic, Rosicrucian, and Egyptian traditions — a structured path of initiation and inner development.
The Name of the Temple
Sia. Hu. Ptah.
Heart. Word. Architect.
In the Memphite theology of ancient Egypt, Ptah the Great Architect creates the universe not through physical act but through the perfect union of heart and tongue — divine intelligence conceived, divine word spoken, the cosmos arising from their concord.
Sia is the heart of Ptah: divine perception, the mind that conceives all that is. Hu is the tongue of Ptah: authoritative utterance, the word that manifests what the heart devises. In Ptah, both proceed from one transcendent source.
